Geraldine "Jerri" Banks Waits, 77, Palmetto, formerly of Brooks and East Point, died Oct. 5, 2008. She was born and raised in Lineville, Ala. She was preceded in death by husbands, Gene Privett and Junior Banks. She was a very active person who enjoyed playing softball, bowling and gardening, often winning "Yard of the Month." She suffered stroke in 1993. She loved animals and attending church at Fairview Baptist Church.

Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her husband, James Waits Sr., Palmetto; daughters, Diane and Jack Allen, Newnan, Becky Daniel and Gary Jones, Hogansville; grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer Grizzard, Braxton and Erin Grizzard, Becca Grizzard, and Evan Daniel; great-grandchildren, Andrew Grizzard, and Guthrie Grizzard; and 11 stepchildren.

Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
