If you look up the word “difference-maker” in the dictionary, you might find the faces of three Landmark Christian football players, Blake Wyatt, Tanner Bryant and Andrew Glaize.

Each made significant contributions in Landmark’s fourth consecutive victory Friday, 35-0 over the Fellowship Christian Paladins in a Region 5-A game on Homecoming Night in Fairburn.

Wyatt returned the opening kick-off 78 yards to set up Landmark’s first touchdown and caught a touchdown pass; Bryant (3-of-7, 106 yards) threw for a touchdown, ran for another and had an interception; and Glaize had two touchdown runs.

Fellowship had no answer for Landmark’s productive trio.

Landmark’s defense was dominant once again as well, a common occurrence during the team’s winning streak, in which it has shut out two opponents and allowed only 13 points.

The War Eagles (4-1, 3-0 region) forced two turnovers; Bryant picked off a pass by Jimmy Stainback on Fellowship’s first possession, and linebacker Cassius Price recovered a fumble on the first play from scrimmage in the second half.

Linebackers Glaize (six total tackles, one for loss), Austin Broussard (five total tackles, four for loss, one sack) and Price (eight total tackles, one for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery) and defensive end Josh Gebhardt (four total tackles, two for loss, two sacks) were especially active for Landmark, which seemingly was constantly in the face of Stainback.

The route began early for Landmark.

Wyatt's long kick-off return to open the game led to Landmark’s first touchdown three plays later, an 8-yard run by Gebhardt.

Bryant connected with wide receiver Robert Trotter on a 63-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, but the play was nullified by a penalty against the War Eagles.

A Fellowship player seriously injured himself on the play and had to wheeled off the field on a stretcher. He was eventually flown to the hospital via helicopter.

Bryant went back to the air on the following play, throwing a pass just over the head of Fellowship cornerback David Rawlings and into the hands of Wyatt down the left sideline for a 66-yard touchdown.

Bryant tossed a fade pass to Wyatt (two receptions, 84 yards) in the left corner of the end zone for the two-point conversion.

Landmark's defense provided another big play to start the second half, a forced fumble that Price recovered on the first play from scrimmage. Two plays later, Bryant scored on a 9-yard run to make it 21-0.

Glaize (12 carries, 72 yards) had touchdown runs of 27 and 13 yards on consecutive possessions to complete the blowout.

His first touchdown run was his most impressive. Glaize side-stepped a couple of Fellowship players in the open field on a run to the right side and darted into the end zone.
