Southern Crescent Chorale concert

The Southern Crescent Chorale’s 2005-2006 concert series season continues today at 3 p.m. at Spivey Hall, where the Chorale will perform Faure Requiem and other French Songs. The Requiem is a seven movement work which debuted in 1900 during the Paris World Exhibition. The program will feature soloist soprano Casey Huggins singing several of Faure’s art songs including “Clair de Lune” as well as the “Jewel Song” from Gounods’s opera Faust. Tickets are $15 and available in advance or at the door only through Spivey Hall. They may be purchased online at www.spiveyhall.org or by phone at 770-960- 4200. The Southern Crescent Chorale is funded through contributions from local supporters of the arts- businesses and individuals- as well as the sale of concert tickets.
