The 2008 Cattle Barons’ Ball Fayette County plans to kick up its heels at Canongate Whitewater Creek Country Club in Fayetteville on Saturday, Nov. 8.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting the event in Whitewater Creek this year,” said event chair Susan Armagost. “The location off Redwine Road is terrific, and we know that the ball will once again prove to be the most incredibly fun event in town for a most worthwhile cause.”

This will be the sixth year for the annual Western-style ball that, to-date, has raised more than $800,000 for the local office of the American Cancer Society. This year’s ball, with the theme of “Shooting for a Cure,” will feature music by Crystal & The Cruizers, food, games and a silent auction.

Volunteers, sporting Cattle Barons’ T-shirts, will be hitting the streets in the coming weeks to round up gifts and donations for the silent auction. All donations of cash, auction items and services will be welcomed. Sponsorships for various aspects of the ball are still being accepted at this time as well.
