Cate Video Services wins awards at Orlando International Video Convention

Cate Video Services recently won two video awards at the eighth annual Home Video Studio (HVS) International Video Convention in Orlando, Fla. The awards, known as the “Hanley” awards, are named after Robert Hanley, the president of the world’s largest organized network of video studios, with locations across America, two in Canada and one in Sweden.

“The awards are our version of the Oscars, which recognize achievement in the movie industry,” said Nick Cate, president of Cate Video Services. Video Studio owners from across the world enter their work in video categories such as Best Video Production, Best Documentary, Best Sports Scholarship Video, Best Video/Photo Montage and Best Memorial Video, to name a few.

In addition to being a finalist in other categories, Cate Video Services won for the Best Mixed Photo & Video Keepsake Video (a Peachtree Packer highlight video), as well as the Best use of Motion (a video highlighting an aspiring model and floor speaker). Motion is a software application by Apple which creates graphics and effects to create videos of people, products and events.

“We couldn’t be more pleased that our videos were recognized by our peers”, said Cate.  “We work hard to produce the best work for our customers and it’s nice to know that other professional video studio owners are impressed as well.”

“The Best Mixed Photo/Video Keepsake award is particularly exciting to us,” Cate expressed. “It is one of the most coveted awards, as a great deal of our work is spent in this area…we create videos about exciting events or to celebrate special times in people’s lives, anniversaries, graduations, life-story, retirements, sport scholarship/highlight videos, etcetera.”

The use of Apple’s Motion software also allows Cate Video Services to create exciting, dynamic corporate videos for everything from trade-show booth videos to waiting-room videos. “The award for use of Motion is exciting to us because it can be a very complex but useful tool to use in creating corporate videos that jump out at the viewer and leave lasting impressions,” Cate said.

Cate Video Services is located in Peachtree City, and can be reached at 770-631-1233 or www.catevideo.com.
