• Forrester named scholarship winner
Justin Forrester is one of 10 high school senior scholarship award winners named by the GUCA Scholarship Foundation. He is the son of Wade and Debbie Forrester, Yancey Bros. Co., Fayetteville, Ga. Forrester graduated from Whitewater High School and plans to attend the University of Alabama. He plans to study criminal justice and become a successful lawyer. The 2008 scholarship awarded to Forrester is $1,000.

• Adams graduates from basic military training
Air Force Airman 1st Class Sarah B. Adams has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. She is the daughter of Michael Adams of Fayetteville, Ga., and Carol Adams of Atlanta, Ga. Adams graduated in 1998 from Sandy Creek High School, Tyrone, Ga., and received a bachelor's degree in 2004 from Atlanta Christian College, East Point, Ga.

• Landgraf earns pilot’s license
Erick Landgraf, a 2008 graduate of Starr's Mill High School, has completed all FAA requirements and earned his Private Pilot's License.  Landgraf trained at Falcon Aviation Academy. He will be attending Middle Georgia Aviation College pursuing an Aviation degree and completing requirements for a Commercial Pilot's License. He is the son of Fred and Jan Landgraf of Fayetteville.
