Pre-sale, Q&A to draw audiences this weekend

Stuart Woods’ latest Stone Barrington novel, “Hot Mahogany,” has the intrepid investigator looking after the older brother of Lance Cabot, Barrington’s sometimes-ally. Barton Cabot has had a long career in military intelligence, but a random act of violence has given him amnesia. Barrington is asked to keep an eye on the elder Cabot and questions begin to surface on who assaulted him and why. Barton Cabot also has an interesting hobby dealing with antique furniture and now Stone is dealing with things outside of his usual realm.

“Hot Mahogany” features Woods’ classic ear for noir-like dialogue and repartee. Fans of the Stone Barrington novels will rejoice at having their hero solve another mystery while thwarting bad guys and getting the girl.

The book will be released on Sept. 23, but “Hot Mahogany,” will make its debut at the Peachtree City Literary Festival on Sunday, September 21, at 2 p.m. The Q&A session will begin at city hall with a reception and book signing immediately following next door at the library. The official sale date isn’t until Sept. 23, but festival attendees will be able to purchase the book on site from Books-A-Million, through a special arrangement made with the publisher.

“We are honored that Stuart Woods chose Peachtree City as the first stop on his national tour,” says Peachtree City Library Administrator Jill Prouty. “We expect his appearance to be a major draw to the area that weekend.”
