• Cox graduates from Georgetown School of Law

Jessica Lynn Cox earned a law degree in May 2008, from Georgetown School of Law, in Washington D.C.
Cox, daughter of Tom and Michele Cox of Fayette County, attended Sandy Creek High School and graduated in 1997. She was awarded the Atlanta Journal Constitution Cup for Best All-Around Senior, achievement awards for International Business, AP Government, the Ga. Tech White and Gold Scholarship, and more, her senior year of high school. 
Cox earned her undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech in 2000, where she majored in international affairs with a minor in history. She graduated with highest honors and was first in her graduating class. 
After working for several years in Washington D.C. for the Center for Strategic and International Affairs, she decided to pursue a law degree specializing in international affairs and public policy. While attending law school, she interned for Senator Ted Kennedy's office, and the Department of Defense.
Cox is currently in Atlanta to take the Georgia Bar Exam, and will pursue her career in Washington D.C. in the fall.

• Deck graduates from basic military training

Air Force Airman Lee A. Deck has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Julia and James Deck of Fayetteville, Ga. Deck is a 2007 graduate of Whitewater High School, Fayetteville.

• Stephenson graduates from basic military training

Air Force Airman Joseph B. Stephenson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Roger Stephenson of Jasper, Texas, and stepson of Jeff Clements of Fayetteville, Ga. Stephenson is a 2005 graduate of Jasper High School.
