The Fayette County High School Band Boosters have announced that the 2009 Miss Pride Pageants will be held March 6 and March 7, 2009. Keeping with tradition, the Jr. Miss Pride Pageant will be held on Friday night, March 6, 2009; and the Miss Pride Pageant will be held on Saturday night, March 7, 2009. The Tiny Miss Pride, Little Miss Pride and Young Miss Pride Pageants will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009, with times to be announced closer to the pageant. The pageants are only open to girls that are residents of Fayette County and are 3-4 and grades K-12. Contestant hopefuls must reside in Fayette County and be 3 years of age by September 1, 2008. Applications will be available during the fall of 2008.

The Miss Pride Pageants, sponsored by the Fayette County High School Band Boosters, are not affiliated with any other pageant system, nor do they endorse any other pageant system.

The pageants have been a fund raiser for the Fayette County High School Band Boosters since 1969. The 2009 pageants will mark the 41st year.

There are several exciting changes to the pageants for 2009. Historically, a cash prize has been presented to the Miss Pride winner. The Band Boosters are pleased to announce that for 2009, they are offering a scholarship to the winner of the Miss Pride pageant rather than a cash prize. The amount of the scholarship will be announced closer to the date of the pageant.

Also, new for 2009 will be the addition of a Tiny Mister Pride Pageant. Tiny Mister Pride will be open to boy residents of Fayette County that are 3 and 4 years of age. The boys must be 3 years of age by September 1, 2008. The pageant will be held during the morning of Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the same time as the Tiny Miss Pride Pageant. The actual time will be announced closer to the date of the pageant.
