A Lilburn man was arrested for trafficking in heroin Sept. 5 during a buy bust conducted by Fayette Sheriff’s Drug Task Force at the Fayette Pavilion Wal-Mart.

Geoffrey Clayton Chilcoat, 37, was charged with heroin trafficking, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a 2-milligram tablet of generic Xanax without a prescription, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Belinda McCastle and arrest records. Bond was denied by Chief Magistrate Judge Charles R. Floyd, Jr.

The informant in the bust was dressed as a Wal-Mart employee, according to drug agents. Chilcoat was in possession of 6.5 grams of heroin, McCastle said. Possession of 4 grams of heroin is considered trafficking, she said. The generic Xanax was found in a black bank bag also containing the marijuana, arrest records said.
