Lighthouse to host family dinner tonight

PTCUMC Chicken-Q set for Sept. 20
The 5th Annual Chicken-Q, co-sponsored by the Methodist Men of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City, will be held Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Methodist Church Youth Center on the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Windgate Road. The take-out only meal of 1⁄2 chicken, beans and cole slaw can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are $7.75 and can be purchased from any member of the Methodist Men or Kiwanis Club. The majority of proceeds goes to support the Scout Lodge and scouting program in Peachtree City.

Greekfest 2008 is this weekend
St. Christopher’s Hellenic Orthodox Church will host “Greekfest 2008” Saturday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Seymour Hangar, Falcon Field in Peachtree City. Advance tickets are $50 per person and include “all you can eat” traditional Greek delicacies, beverages, live entertainment, dance lessons and more. Concert series begins in Peachtree City
Organist Sam De Carlo will present an afternoon of inspirational music at First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City Sunday, Sept. 21, at 4 p.m., the first in a series of free concerts to be presented at the church. De Carlo will be joined by John Beresford, senior music student from the University of Michigan. A love offering will be taken. Hopewell UMC will offer Friday night movies
Hopewell United Methodist Church will host a free Friday Night Movie, on Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. with a viewing of “Evan Almighty,” a 90-minute comedy starring Steve Carell, as Evan, and Morgan Freeman as God Refreshments will be available at intermission.
