Fayette County still is searching for its first victory of the season after losing its third straight game Friday, 31-7 to Douglas County.

Quarterback Justin Murray’s 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter accounted for Fayette’s lone score.

Douglas County got it done on offense, scoring a touchdown in all four quarters, and on defense, holding Fayette’s young and struggling offense to 166 total yards.

The battle of field position hurt Fayette (0-3), a problem that has plagued it since the beginning of the season.

“Basically, it was the same story times three,” Fayette coach Tommy Webb said. “Field position has been a major struggle for us. Our offense is not moving the ball and getting first downs, and, in turn, we are giving teams great field position. It’s been difficult.”

Linebackers Josh Atwater (12 total tackles, one sack) and Evan Reid (10 total tackles, one sack) and safety Kendall Palmore (seven total tackles) stood out on defense for Fayette (0-3).
