Developer abandons bid for Fairfield Inn, Comfort Inn

A development company has pulled out of plans to build two new hotels in Peachtree City, officials confirmed this week.

The Fairfield Inn and Suites and a Comfort Inn were planned for two different areas in the city but the Fairfield Inn failed to get a height variance from the City Council to allow construction of a three-story building. The Fairfield Inn would have been located behind the Wisdom Pointe shopping center off Ga. Highway 74 north.

The Comfort Inn would have been located on an undeveloped tract in the Lexington Circle shopping center behind the Zaxby’s restaurant.

The Fairfield proposal was for a three-story 84-room hotel, and the Comfort Inn would have had 72 rooms.
