A new study on "The Healing Ministry of Jesus" will begin Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg. The class is an initial study project for those interested in becoming associate members in the International Order of St. Luke the Physician (OSL), an interdenominational ministry that trains people to pray for the sick.

The class will study 26 specific instances in the New Testament where Jesus ministered to and healed those who suffered from spiritual or physical illness.

Edwina Cowgill, Newnan, an OSL member, will teach the class and will be assisted by Bishop David Epps, also a member of OSL. Cowgill, who is employed by Redemption Fellowship of Fayetteville, is a commissioned minister of congregational care and holds a bachelor's degree from Logos Christian College, Jacksonville, Fla.

There is a fee for the class and homework will be assigned. Those interested in the class may contact Cowgill at 770-460-1220 or by email at edwina@redemptionfellowship.org.

Christ the King is at 4881 Highway 34 East between Peachtree City and Newnan.
