WHS vs. Upson Lee/ Materials left on WindshieldsTo the person or persons who distributed the "information" concerning Robin Kittrell at the Whitewater vs. Upson Lee football game on Friday night. I respect your right to express your concern over this matter, but I find your actions cowardly in the fact that you did not have the courage to attach your name, or the name of your organization, to the information distributed. We all know that Robin Kittrell committed a crime and he is currently serving the sentence passed down to him by a court of law. Who are you to ask that a program designed to help individuals who make mistakes and have no other history or prior convictions not be applied to Mr. Kittrell? Do you consider yourself above the law? Do you think that the opinions of a few should over ride the decisions made by the state senators and congressmen? What if this were your son or daughter, your Sunday school teacher, or someone else close to you, would you feel the same then? Did you know Mr. Kittrell personally, I doubt it. Have you made it your personal goal to make his life miserable? Should he pay for the rest of his life for decisions that he made at the age of 17? Mr. Kittrell will be on probation soon regardless of the opinions of you or your organization. All that he and his attorney have asked is that he be able to take advantages of the opportunities afforded to others in his situation, I hope the court system makes educated decisions and gives him every available opportunity to steer his life in the right direction. As for the comments by the principal of Whitewater High School, I find your comments disturbing. It is the task of the teachers and the administration of the school to educate our children, not make personal comments on personal beliefs about situations involving former students. Is there a constant fear at the school that Mr. Kittrell will come back with some sort of vengeance? If so what are you doing to help the students understand this threat? Nothing. When you stated in the Fayette Daily News that Mr. Kittrell obtaining First Offender status "would not be good for WHS" what were you basing this information on, personal opinion? Maybe all should keep personal opinions to themselves and let the courts decide what is best for Mr. Kittrell. WWHS Parent09's blog | login to post comments |
