Peachtree City residents wanting more information about the widening of Ga. Highway 74 South can attend an open house hosted by the Georgia Department of Transportation on Thursday, Feb. 2. The event will be held at Starr’s Mill High School from 4 until 7 p.m. The open house is slated to provide the public with a chance to view the projects, ask questions and comment on the proposals. Also included in this proposal is the realignment of Rockaway Road with the signalized intersection of Holly Grove Road. The highway widening project will extend from Ga. Highway 54 all the way down to Ga. Highway 85. It will be broken into two segments: the northern leg from Hwy. 54 to Cooper Circle and from Cooper Circle to Hwy. 85. No formal presentation will be conducted at the open house, officials said. Written statements on the project are due by Feb. 15 and may be mailed to Harvey D. Keepler, state environmental/location engineer, 3993 Aviation Circle, Atlanta, Ga. 30336-1593. login to post comments |
