Unity Christian’s yard sale is this Saturday
The Unity Christian Church will have a Community Yard Sale Saturday Sept. 6, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Items for sale include some designers clothes, suits and shoes (Ecko, Jones of New York) etc., new and used clothes for adults, young adults, teens, children and babies, bicycles, chairs, computers, linen, décor, rugs, lamps, wall pictures, furniture, appliances and much more. ‘Super Sundays’ start at McDonough Rd.
McDonough Road Baptist Church invites the community to join them for Seven Super Sundays Sept. 7 – Oct. 19. The seven Sunday emphasis focuses on building attendance and momentum for the last quarter of the year. Special guests will make appearances, including inspirational speaker Bryant Bush of Montgomery, Ala., on Sept. 14, and Kimberly Woodhouse of ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover on Oct. 19. ESL classes starting at Carriage Lane
Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church, PCA, will offer English as a Second language (ESL) classes beginning Friday, Sept. 12 (9:30-11:30 a.m.) and Sunday, Sept. 14 (7-9 p.m.), running weekly through mid-May, 2009. Flat Creek offers ‘recovery’ groups
Flat Creek Baptist Church will offer study groups on “Recovering From the Losses of Life” beginning Sunday., Sept. 14 at 4:30 p.m. in room A-126. The study groups are described as “Christ-centered sharing groups,” not therapy groups, to help those working through the grieving process. A textbook is used. PTCUMC Chicken-Q set for Sept. 20
The 5th Annual Chicken-Q, co-sponsored by the Methodist Men of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City, will be held Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Methodist Church Youth Center on the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Windgate Road. The take-out only meal of 1⁄2 chicken, beans and cole slaw can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are $7.75 and can be purchased from any member of the Methodist Men or Kiwanis Club. The majority of proceeds goes to support the Scout Lodge and scouting program in Peachtree City.

Greekfest 2008 set for Sept. 20
St. Christopher’s Hellenic Orthodox Church will host “Greekfest 2008” Saturday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Seymour Hangar, Falcon Field in Peachtree City. Advance tickets are $50 per person and include “all you can eat” traditional Greek delicacies, beverages, live entertainment, dance lessons and more.
