The Landmark Christian School War Eagles started sophomore Carson Barnett at quarterback in the season’s first game and the opening exchange did not go well. The play resulted in a fumble and Brookstone capitalized, running back the fumble for a touchdown.

Barnett responded well with a 56 yard touchown pass to pre-season all state linebacker Andrew Glaize and the score was knotted at 7-7. Brookstone added a touchdown and a field goal before the half and a field goal in the third quarter to go up 20-7 before Bennett connected on a 10 yard touchdown pass to senior Blake Wyatt to cut the lead to six. Brookstone would add two more touchdowns though and won 34-14.

Barnett finished was 16 for 25 for 207 yards passing and two touchdowns, while Glaize finished with a touchdown and 15 total tackles. Wyatt also had a receiving touchdown and eight solo tackles. Senior Robert Waters also had eight total tackles in the loss.

Landmark will play at Warren County this Friday.
