Gerald Santuso, 74, Fayetteville, died Jan. 18 2006. He was born July 27, 1931 in Newark, N. J., son of Ralph and Alberta Santuso. He lived here until moving to the Atlanta area in 1986. He served in the United States Army in the Korean conflict, in the army’s Seventh Infantry Division. He received a Purple Heart. Returning home he worked as a licensed funeral director and embalmer in New Jersey and Georgia for nearly 50 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed studying the American Civil War and was considered to be an expert. A private memorial service and burial are planned for a later date. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ann Santuso; daughters, Cynthia Brown, Flemington, N. J., Brenda and Rich Stanley, Oakland, N. J., Sharon and Stephen Costello, Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Jones Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge. login to post comments |
