‘Day of Prayer for Israel’ service set for Sunday

New Hope Baptist Church, South Campus, 1563 Joel Cowan Pkwy., will participate with tens of thousands of churches throughout the United States and around the world in the Jan. 29 Day of Prayer for Israel. The event is open to all churches in the area and all in the community are invited.

The service will be held from 6 -7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at New Hope South Campus, Starr’s Mill Hall.

Organized by the Stand for Israel initiative of The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews in 2002, the Day of Prayer has become an annual event, drawing millions of Christians each year and endorsed by major denominations.

Stand for Israel is co-chaired by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, founder and president of The International Fellowship of Christian and Jews, and noted political strategist Ralph Reed.Israeli government officials, including Ambassador Daniel Ayalon and consuls general around the country, participate in the Day of Prayer at churches throughout the United States.
