Faith Bible Church, located on Ga. Highway 34 in Sharpsburg is now offering biblical counseling and biblical counseling courses to the community. There is no charge for the counseling. There is a $75 charge for each counseling course for those outside of Faith Bible Church. The “Faith Biblical Counseling Ministry” is directed by David Birch. Birch is a former pastor and college professor who is certified as a biblical counselor and instructor of counseling courses. Martha Peace, author of the book, “The Excellent Wife,” is also one of the certified counselors. Biblical counselors use the Scriptures in a very practical way to give hope and encouragement as well as teach counselees how to solve their problems in a God-honoring manner. They are qualified to counsel any personal, emotional, or relationship problem that one may be experiencing. The philosophy of biblical counseling comes directly from the Scriptures in 2 Peter 1:3: “God has given us everything we need pertaining to life and godliness.” For more information about the counseling, contact Faith Bible Church at 770-252-8244 and request a “counseling information packet.” The information packet will answer your questions and contain a form to complete and mail back to the church if you decide to seek counseling. Appointments are available on a variety of days and times. For more information about the counseling classes, contact David Birch through Faith Bible Church at 770-252-8244. There are two classes being offered this fall semester: “Introduction to Biblical Counseling” taught by David Birch and “Women Counseling Women” (for ladies only) taught by Martha Peace. The courses are free to members and regular visitors of Faith Bible Church and for those outside of the church, there is a one time $75 fee. Each student will also be responsible for their text books. There will be a preliminary class August 25 at 7 p.m. with both classes together. Classes will resume separately on September 8. Each class will meet from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Mondays. David Birch’s class will end December 1. Martha Peace’s class will end on November 17. login to post comments |
