I just wanted to compliment you on your article about the amount of vacant shopping centers in Fayette County. I am astonished that they continue to be built all over the place and then sit empty after the nail salon moves in.

I would love you to do an article on why our county continues to grant building permit after building permit so that this situation not only exists but seems to be getting worse. I would also be interested to see how many future shopping centers are currently being planned.

To me, nothing spells a declining city than empty store space, whether it is a boarded-up ghetto or new space that remains unoccupied for years.
