1 small step against PTC litteringTue, 08/19/2008 - 3:04pm

I would like to thank and commend the attractive young lady who was on her bike for the action she took [recently] at the PTC Municipal Building. She was watching as a late model dark Honda parked in a parking space for library users only. The driver had totally ignored two “Court Parking in Rear” signs and one “Library Parking Only” sign and instead taken one of the already limited library parking spaces. The lady was resting from her bike ride when she saw two people get out of the car and proceed to the court building. They had evidently just finished their lunch and were going into court. These two men had a large amount of fast food trash, which they just threw on the curb as they got out of the car. This must have been much easier for them rather than taking the trouble to put their trash in one of the two or three trash cans they would walk by on the way into court. After observing this slovenly behavior and watching the people go into court, the civic-minded young lady got off of her bike, walked over and cleaned up the trash and then placed it neatly on the hood of the Honda. Even though the two litterbugs might be a little dim and self-absorbed, maybe even they will be bright enough to take this not so subtle hint. Mick Lloyd Peachtree City, Ga. login to post comments |
