Lurline Mitchell Scott, 98, Griffin, died July 23, 2008. She was born Sept. 24, 1909 in Greene County, Ark. She was preceded in death by per parents, Murray Lee and Odelle Yopp Mitchell, her husband, James Dudley Scott, a son, James Scott, a brother, Murray Lee Mitchell Jr., and sister, Flossie Mitchell. She was retired from Spalding Knitting Mills, and after retirement she became a caregiver for her mother and others. She attended the Brooks United Methodist Church. Graveside services were at Griffin Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kevin Tart officiating. Survivors include sons, Gene and Dell Scott, and Joe and Sandra Scott, all of Griffin, and George and Ellen Scott, Meansville; a daughter, Jane Mask, Brooks; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Conner- Westbury Funeral Home, Griffin, was in charge.
