Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone, will sponsor “Men’s Fraternity - A Quest for Authentic Manhood,” on Thursday nights from Sept. 18, 2008 to March 26, 2009, from 7 to 8:35 p.m. The “Men’s Fraternity” is a series of three one-year-long studies. The first study will be “The Quest for Authentic Manhood.” Each Thursday will feature a 45-minute teaching session followed by a 30-minute small group discussion. “The sessions bond men of the community together to learn and listen to each other,” a spokesperson said. “Friendships are formed as the men encourage each other to take a more godly view of manhood. Their new attitudes have an amazing effect on their families, workplaces, and their churches.” The concept began in 1990 in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has developed into an organization where more than 15,000 groups meet throughout the world. This local group will be led by Dennis Sandretto. For more information, contact Sandretto at 404-915-1432, or check out the web site http://www.mensfraternity.com/. The sessions are free, but an $11 workbook is required for participation. To register send a check, made out to Hopewell UMC, to P.O. Box 70, Tyrone, GA 30290, with “men’s fraternity” in the memo portion of the check. Those interested also may stop by the church at 351 Jenkins Rd., or call the church office, 770-306-7537. login to post comments |
