• Fayette County high School graduate Drake McCoy, wrestling in the 285 pound weight class for the Iowa Central Community College Tritons, finished as runner-up in the UNO Open and the South Dakota State Open. His second place finish at the UNO Open was the team’s highest finish.

• Dexter Manley II, a 6’4”, 260 pound defensive end at Santa Monica College, will be transferring to the University of Oregon. The Fayette County High School graduate was named to the first team, all Western State Conference Southern Division team, and was being heavily recruited by numerous Division I football teams.

• Peachtree City’s Marc Dwyer improved his season singles record for Northwestern University to 9-4, with a 60-, 6-3 win over his opponent from DePaul. Dwyer and his doubles partner Alexey Evstratenkov, also picked up an 8-4 win over their opponents from DePaul.

• Peachtree City’s Jenny Norman scored eight of the East Tennessee Lady Bucs basketball team’s final 10 points in their 69-55 win over Kennesaw State.
