Fayette County native’s focus on children and families is created at on-location shoots, capturing the mood and emotions of the moment. “I am very excited to have Malin’s work on display at the library,” said library administrator Jill Prouty. “The first time I saw her work, on her website, I was impressed with her artistic point of view, especially her black and whites. She has a creative sense of the emotions of the moment. The library is happy to host her premier show.” Roghelia’s style of on-location, natural and artistic photography is her trademark. She works from the point of view that, “Children and adults are captured best in their own environment – playing, hanging-out or just being,” she notes. “It is amazing how much feeling comes through the lens when they do not have to pose.” Focusing her work on children and families, Roghelia makes an effort to strike a balance between artistic and basic images. Clients often decide upon some of each of the approaches. Although the artistic images receive the most attention; in essence, because they reveal the uniqueness of the person. The library will be hosting a Meet the Artist reception, with the time and date to be announced. The winner of the drawing will be announced at the library's Family Night program at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 30. Roghelia’s academic education in photography, graphic design, drawing and art history includes studies at The Art Institute of Atlanta and at Savannah College of Art and Design, which led to her career as an artistic photographer.
