The south side Kroger in Fayetteville is looking to add to its presence at 805 S. Glynn Street. A proposal at the city’s Planning Commission work session Aug. 12 would add 13,920 square feet to the existing 55,000 square-foot grocery store.

The project would come after the two small stores immediately to the south are demolished to make way for the expansion that would include the entire depth of the grocery store.

The expansion would provide more space for the current product line and include other features such as an upscale deli, company representatives said.

Towne Center Florist, one of the two businesses adjacent to Kroger, has relocated several doors down in the shopping center.

Kroger representatives will be back at the commission’s Aug. 26 regular session.
