• Prothro named to honor list
Crystaline Prothro, of Fayette County, was named to the president’s list at North Metro Technical College for the spring 2008 semester. In order to be named to the honor list, students must earn a 4.0 GPA.

• Local earns honors, heads to NYC
Haley Roe Murphy, a 2006 honor graduate of Fayette County High School, has been named to the University of Georgia dean’s list for the past four semesters. Majoring in broadcast journalism, Murphy is a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was awarded an internship with MTV in New York City, where she currently resides. Murphy auditioned and won a singing role at Ellen’s Stardust Diner on Broadway, where she performs daily. She will be a junior at UGA next year.

• Cheatham named to dean’s list
Megan Leigh Cheatham, daughter of John and Deborah Cheatham of Peachtree City, has been named to the dean’s list for outstanding academic performance at Berry College during the fall and spring terms. Cheatham is a member of the Berry Lady Viking Volleyball Team and a 2006 graduate of McIntosh High School.

• PTC resident awarded nursing scholarship
Jo Trebble-Greening, a resident of Peachtree City, was awarded the Selwyn Walker Foundation Nursing Scholarship to study nursing at Gordon College. Gordon College, in Barnesville, is a residential state college of the University System of Georgia and offers more than 80 programs of study to more than 3,700 students.

• Harris graduates from Columbia University
Rachel Elizabeth Harris of Fayetteville, Ga. recently graduated from Columbia University in New York City where she received a master of arts degree in organizational psychology. Harris completed her undergraduate studies at Auburn University in 2006. She is a 2002 honor graduate from Starr’s Mill High School and is the daughter of Dave and Leigh Ann Harris of Fayetteville, the granddaughter of Joyce and Hollis Harris of Peachtree City and Betty Bailey Mayfield of Fayetteville.
