Student director takes the reigns Fayette Coweta Family Theatre, Inc. (FCFT) this weekend will present the family-friendly Broadway musical “Little Women.” This story has touched the hearts of millions through the book by Louisa May Alcott and now a tremendous musical score makes this timeless story even more amazing. “Little Women” tells the story of the March family in pre- and post-Civil War America. It follows the adventures of Jo March (Amy Hebel) as she strives to find her way in the world and sell her beloved stories. Throughout the show we meet the gentlemen who impact the little women's lives and experience love, friendship, humor and sadness as we connect with this family and their story. Little Women is the first show in FCFT's Student Director Program. The show is directed by Hebel and the music is directed by Brent Davis. The cast includes Meloni Thompson as Marmee March, Emily Sipe and Grace Hendley as Meg March, Hannah Herndon as Beth March, Laney Thompson as Amy March, Brent Davis as Laurie Laurence, Trevor Martin as Professor Bhaer, Andrew Miller as John Brooke, Joshua Kennedy as Mr. Laurence and FCFT artistic director Tammy Barton as Aunt March and Mrs. Kirk. The show will hit the stage at the Fayette Family YMCA Lodge House at 215 Huiet Road in Fayetteville on August 9 and 10 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and August 14 at 7:30 p.m. Pre-purchased tickets are only $8 through the website, www.fcft.net, or by calling 770-251-7611. Tickets at the door are $10 for general admission and $9 for those under 13 years and seniors 65 and better.
