PTCUMC to dedicate lodge this Sunday
Members of Peachtree City United Methodist Church will celebrate the opening of their new Scout Lodge at the church Sunday, Aug. 10 at 12:45 p.m. There will be a time of recognition during the 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services and the service of consecration will begin at 12:45 at the lodge, located in the lower parking lot to the right of the worship center, 225 Robinson Rd. The Peachtree City UMC is host to three Scout troops, two Cub Scout packs and 20 Girl Scout troops.

Auditions for FFUMC’s play set for Monday
Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will begin auditions at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” Auditions will be scheduled over three days. For the audition, contestants should come prepared with a short one-minute-or-less monologue, or choose a short reading from the script. Everyone, regardless of experience, is encouraged to try-out. The Rock plans financial series
The Rock Baptist Church on Sandy Creek Road will offer Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace University,” a biblically-based, 13-week video-based small group study that “teaches families to beat debt, build wealth and give like never before.” The series will begin Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 6-8 p.m. A free preview will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m. at the church, 1392 Sandy Creek Road near Ga. CCWW preschool registration opens
Christ’s Church at Whitewater Preschool and Play Day has begun fall registration. The first day of school is Aug. 18. A parent/student orientation is Thursday, Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. Classes are available for babies six months through two years, and for three- and four-year-olds. Heritage to host African AIDS exhibit
Heritage Christian Church will host a free educational AIDS exhibit , “World Vision Experience: AIDS – Step Into Africa,” Friday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 24 (with the exception of Monday, Aug 18 and Friday, Aug 22 when the exhibit will be closed). The exhibit allows visitors to step into the lives of actual children affected by HIV and AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa. Heritage is at 2130 Redwine Rd., south of Fayetteville. Flint Ridge Baptist’s revival starts Aug. 20
Flint Ridge Baptist Church will have a three-night adult and youth revival Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Aug. 20-22 at 7 p.m. each night. A special youth speaker will be featured Thursday night.
