Rick Springfield comes to Peachtree CityFri, 08/01/2008 - 8:52am

Rick Springfield will perform at The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater on Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2. Springfield is the first show in the Lexus of South Atlanta 2008 Summer Concert Series II. Returning to The Fred, this Grammy Award-winning rock icon is on tour to support the release of his new album, “Venus in Overdrive.” Springfield has withstood the test of time writing and performing some of the best power pop of the past 30 years, with hits that include, “Jessie’s Girl,” “I’ll Miss That Someday” and “Love is Alright Tonight.” “Rick Springfield played such a terrific show last time he was here and was such a crowd favorite that we had to invite him back,” said Lauren Yawn, executive director of the Peachtree City Tourism Association. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the opener will begin at 8 p.m. Rick Springfield will hit the stage at 9 p.m. The remainder of The Lexus of South Atlanta 2008 Summer Concert Series includes 38 Special on August 22 and 23, Chris Isaak on September 5 and 6, Trisha Yearwood on September 12 and 13, and Dickey Betts & Great Southern on September 26 and 27.
