The Fayetteville Police Department is warning residents about a credit scam advertisement that claims to help people resolve credit problems and bankruptcy.

The ad, which offers loans, lists a phone number of 1-877-367-0128 and has been printed in local newspapers, police said. The ad has not been published in The Citizen.

Anyone who has responded to the ad is asked to contact Det. Mike Whitlow at 770-461-4441.
