Governor Sonny Perdue announced that Daniel Groce, a native of Fayetteville, Ga., is among 29 college students and recent graduates chosen to participate in the Governor’s Intern Program for the summer of 2008. Groce is working as an intern for the Office of Government Affairs.

“The Governor’s internship program gives students and graduates the opportunity to serve the public while earning real world experience in a fast paced state government office environment,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “Our interns and fellows are enthusiastic, hard working and critical to the operation of our office. We give them a lot of responsibility, and we expect a lot from them.  Many of our interns choose to enter the field of public service when their internship is over.”

Groce currently attends Mercer University where he is pursuing an undergraduate degree in political science.

The Governor's Intern Program, initiated in 1971, offers invaluable work experience each semester in the office of the governor and state agencies. During the application process, interns are matched with the state agency or division within the governor’s office that best meets their area of interest. All interns go through a critical competitive selection process.

Summer 2008 interns will serve through August 8.
