Local family makes ‘giving back’ a priorityWed, 07/30/2008 - 8:46am

Mike and Chris McNeal, owners of McNeal Transit Group located in Newnan, established a non-profit organization in January of this year in order to be more strategic with their philanthropy. The McNeal Family Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to serving local families who have been affected by childhood cancer. The foundation was established in honor of their niece, Hannah, who was diagnosed with childhood leukemia at age four. In addition to serving families, the foundation is in partnership with several local organizations that fit within the McNeal Family Foundation’s mission and purpose. The McNeals made a generous investment in the foundation initially, but the foundation will count on support from the local community to continue its work for the long term. “We will count on donations from donors who believe in our mission, corporate sponsor dollars and funds raised at our one yearly event to sustain the work of the foundation,” said Chris McNeal. The McNeal Family Foundation will hold its very first fund-raising event on August 9 at the Georgia National Guard Armory in Newnan from 7 to 11 p.m. Please join the McNeals for an exciting evening at “A Fabulous Night In Vegas,” an evening that includes dinner, beverages, live and silent auctions, door prizes, music and your favorite games provided by CCP Events, Inc. Tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased by calling the foundation office at 770-463-3261 or on-line at www.mcnealfamilyfoundation.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door beginning at 7 p.m. on August 9. You must be 21 or older to attend the event. “A lot of hard work has gone in to making ‘A Fabulous Night In Vegas’ an event to remember,” said Mike McNeal. “We expect a great turn out! This community is a giving one and we are proud to play a small role in making lives better for families going through a very difficult time. We are very excited about the event and about helping in this way.” For more details please contact Chris McNeal at 770-463-3261 or visit the foundation’s website at www.mcnealfamilyfoundation.org. login to post comments |
