Mary Constance Crockett Cochran

Mary Constance Crockett "Cappie" Cochran, Gainesville, formerly of Peachtree City, died July 24, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Stanley and Susan Kiernan Crockett, and her husband, John M. Cochran, who died in 2001. She was born in Gloucester County, Va., and was a longtime resident of Maysville, Ky., and Peachtree City. She was a well-known and active citizen of her two residential communities. In Marysville, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Maysville Players, DAR, the American Red Cross and the Mason County Historical Society. She was a star basketball player, a women's golf champion at the Maysville Country Club and an avid bridge player. In Peachtree City, she owned Cappie's Flowers and Gifts and was active in the Flat Creek Ladies Golf Club as well as local bridge clubs, and the First Presbyterian Church. Memorial services were at the First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City with the Rev. Dr. David Miller officiating. Graveside services were at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, Ky. Survivors include children, Robert and Suzanne Cochran, New York, N.Y., John M. and Donna Cochran III, Souderton, Pa., Stanley and Lisa Cochran, Frankfort, Ky., Connie Ashley, and Renie Cochran, both of Peachtree city; grandchildren, Lauren, Christine and Robert Cochran, Kierman and Isabel Cochran, Ryan and Jennifer Ashley, and Connor Presley; and sister, Sue Graul, Leesburg, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City or The First Presbyterian Church in Maysville, Ky. Carl J. Mowell &Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
