Police investigate ‘lock in’ case

Victim calls 911, unable to leave home

Fayetteville police are investigating a case in which a woman was reportedly locked in a home on south Jeff Davis Drive for several hours at a time last week.

The victim, 23, from Douglasville told police that she came to the home Wednesday, July 23 after meeting a man on the Internet. He left the house several times between Wednesday and Friday, each time locking the woman inside, police said.

When the woman called 911, a family member came to the scene to with a key to unlock the house, police said. It was not clear if the windows were locked, and detectives are continuing to investigate the matter, police said.

So far no charges have been filed, police said.
