I have had the good fortune to work with and observe Lee Hearn for many years. The first thing you notice about Lee is his professional knowledge, dedication to his responsibilities and his humble demeanor.

As public works director for Fayette County, Lee always remembered who he served, i.e., all the people of Fayette County. He always tried to meet the needs of not only the county but also the municipalities.

When local roads are repaved in our cities, the city buys the materials and preps the roads but county employees actually do the repaving. This saves thousands of taxpayers’ dollars each year as the cities do not have to contract the work or buy expensive paving equipment.

The new trail on Redwine Road was a joint county/city project coordinated by Lee and has proved to be very popular with the community.

Lee was instrumental in helping with signs for the city and did not hesitate to provide specialty equipment for various jobs, thus again saving taxpayer money.

In summary, it is safe to say that Lee possesses a servant’s heart and is a team player who has earned the confidence and trust of those members of our community that have known him for years.

My family and I plan on returning to the polls to vote for Lee, and we hope you will select him to be your next county commissioner.

Ken Steele
