Heather Thompson and Brandon Lee Thompson were married June 11, 2008, in a beach ceremony in Destin, Fla. The groom’s grandfather, the Rev. Robert Thompson, conducted the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Donald Thompson.

The bride is the daughter of William Thompson of Marietta and Michelle Thompson of Florida. Her stepmother is Kimberly Thompson of Marietta. She is the granddaughter of Donald Thompson and the late Nancy Thompson, and the great-granddaughter of Don Cross Thompson. She is a 2002 graduate of Kennesaw Mountain High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of West Georgia. She currently is the manager for Kay Jewelers in Oxford, Ala.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Thompson of Peachtree City. He is the grandson of Betty and Bob Thompson of Tifton, and the late Ned and Ruth McMillan of Gadsden, Ala. He is a 2001 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of West Georgia. He currently is the assistant manager of the Italian Oven in Austell.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson now reside in Villa Rica.
