Mr. and Mrs. William F. Thompson of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Marie, to Joseph Michael Phelix, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph Phelix of Brasher Falls N.Y.

The bride-to-be is the site coordinator at Brightstar Learning Center in Peachtree City.

The groom is a land surveyer for Seiler & Associates based in Stockbridge.

The wedding will be Oct. 5, 2008, at Pristine Chapel in Jonesboro, followed by a honeymoon in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Helen.
