Mr. And Mrs. Timothy James of Decatur, Ala. announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Leanne James of Atlanta, to Richard Michael Staniszewski of Atlanta, son of Richard and Gail Staniszewski of Fayetteville.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. And Mrs. Hubert Powell, Mrs. Recil Shelton and the late Mr. Noble Shelton and the late Mr. And Mrs. Bobby James, all of Decatur, Ala. She is a graduate of Austin High School in Decatur. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Auburn University and a law degree from Mercer Law School in Macon. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Buckhead Club in Atlanta and is partner at Cook and James LLC Law firm in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. And Mrs. Paul Staniszewski, Mrs. Anastasia Zubrycky and the late Paul Zubrycky, all of Faytteville. He is a graduate of Fayette County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia State University. He is a member of the Buckhead Club and is the fundraising chairman of Grant Park Neighborhood Association. He served in the U. S. Navy and is employed as an industrial engineer at Cbeyond in Atlanta.

The wedding will be Oct.10, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the Biltmore Hotel Ballroom in Atlanta.
