The City of Newnan Fire Department will be participating in Ashley Park’s Summer Celebration on Saturday, July 26. Some of Newnan’s firemen will be out at Ashley Park showing off a city fire truck and handing out burn awareness materials to citizens.

“Burn awareness is important to our community. It is important for children to know at an early age that playing with fire will almost always end in disaster,” said Newnan Fire Chief David Whitley. “It is great for the fire department to come out and see the public in a celebrative and positive atmosphere to talk about burn awareness before it becomes a problem.”

Ashley Park Summer Celebration will include concerts, prize giveaways, fun and games for kids. The event is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be live performances from Christian band Pointe Blank, classic rockers and more. Partial event proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club.
