Charles Connally, 69, Palmetto, died June 23, 2008. He was born Oct. 6, 1938 in Coweta County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hosea and Mattie Connally, of whom he was their 11th child, brothers, Porter, Bob, Oliver, James, Hosea, and sisters, Edith Alice Mary, and Sylvia. He was a member of Mt. Prospect Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver. He raced cars in his early age, and his favorite sport was wrestling. Services were at the Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home chapel with interment at Floral Hill Cemetery, Palmetto. Survivors include his wife, Annie Connally; children, Brenda and Kary Parks, Hosea Connally, Ray Connally, Charles and Elaine Walker, and Paul Hill, all of Newnan, Edward and Quince Connally, Riverdale, Stacy and Amber Connally Union City, and Sataria Sanders, East Point, stepchildren, Linda and Rod Hampton, Shelia M. Smith, and Larry Moreland, all of Newnan, Donnie and Chiquita Hayes, Senoia, Jannie Pruitt, Debbie Hayes, and Alonza Hayes, all of Palmetto; 39 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Render, Newnan; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sutton, Graddy Porter, Robert Jones, and Alice Person; and a sister-in-law, Roberta Melson. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge. login to post comments |
