Gamma Phi Beta alumnae chapter wins awards

The Southern Crescent Alumnae Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta sorority won three awards on June 26 at the Gamma Phi Beta International Convention in Cincinnati.

The three awards were: Outstanding Alumnae-Collegiate Relations, which recognized the Southern Crescent chapter's support of Gamma Phi Betas at UGA, Southern Polytechnic State University, Emory, Auburn and Kennesaw State as the best out of nearly 160 alumnae groups; Outstanding Panhellenic Leadership and Participation, which recognized the chapter's impressive panhelleinc involvement and leadership; and Outstanding Scrapbook.

The Southern Crescent Alumnae Chapter was founded in June 2000 and, in addition to supporting five collegiate chapters and its leadership of and involvement in area panhellenic activities, they also do fund-raisers for the Georgia Council of Campfire USA, hold bimonthly Book Club gatherings and have periodic social events.
