Members of Peachtree City United Methodist Church welcomed their new pastor, the Rev. Herzen Andone, to the staff as their new senior pastor on June 29. Andone is married to the Rev. Jennifer Andone, who has just been appointed to serve as the pastor at Inman United Methodist Church in south Fayette County. The couple met while they were both students at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. The Rev. Chuck Hodges, who had served as the senior pastor at PTCUMC for the last12 years, was appointed to Athens First United Methodist Church in Athens. Herzen Andone grew up in a Navy family and moved as his father’s career took him from place to place. Toward the end of his father’s service, he settled in Florida. He graduated from Escambia High School in Pensacola and, after a few years of working in the business world, returned to college and graduated from the University of Florida. Jennie Andone was born in Ohio but grew up in Roswell. She is a graduate of Roswell High School and Stetson University. The Andones have pastored several churches in North Georgia and are parents to two boys. Dakin is 14 and Dylan is 11. Herzen Andone brings years of experience with him from his previous appointments and not only is an accomplished preacher, but an outstanding musician as well, as the congregation experienced on his first Sunday. Members of the community are invited to visit Peachtree City UMC and meet the new pastor. The church at 225 Robinson Road. login to post comments |
