Members of Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church invite the community to join the celebration of their patron saint’s Feast Day, Tuesday, July 22. The Catholic parish will have a special evening Mass at 7 p.m. celebrated by Father Daniel J. Fleming, pastor. Following the Mass, a reception will be hosted by the Women’s Guild in the parish’s church hall. “Saint Mary Magdalene was a faithful supporter of Jesus Christ during his years of ministry,” a church spokesperson said. “She stood at the foot of the cross as he was crucified. Mary Magdalene is known as the “Apostle to the Apostles” because she was the first to see the risen Christ upon his resurrection. Jesus asked her to bring the news of his resurrection to the others.” Saint Mary Magdalene Church is located at 3 Village Road in Newnan, directly behind the new Coweta Central Library near the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 154 and Lower Fayetteville Road. login to post comments |
