Lula Mae McKown, 90, Burke, Ga., formerly of Fayetteville, died July 6, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. McKown, three brothers, and two sisters. Graveside services were at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Jonesboro, with the Rev. Jim McRae officiating. Survivors include a son, Jimmy and Vickie McKown, Forest Park; a daughter, Nell and Kookie Dowdy, Keysville, Ga.; five grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
