Frederick J. Grant, 84, died July 2, 2008. He was born in 1923 in Newark, N.J. He served in the United States Army in World War II from Feb. 1943 to Jan. 1946. He participated in the Fayette Inaugural Honor Flight this past May in the trip to the World War Il Memorial in Washington, D.C. He recently self-published a memoir of his war experiences entitled "Limited Service." Memorial services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marie Grant, Peachtree City; a son, Russell and Sharon Grant, Land O'Lakes, Fla.; a daughter, Pat and Harry Cooper, Peachtree City; grandchildren, Sabrina Ann Cooper, Norcross, Sgt. Brandon Cooper, Unite States Army Fort Carson, Colo., Caryann Grant, Angelica Grant, and Summer Grant, all of Land O'Lakes, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association, or the American Cancer Society, or Embracing Hospice. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
