Wingo aided Rep. Lakly’s widowTue, 07/08/2008 - 3:53pm

I promised myself I would not get involved in any political race this year. It has never been Dan’s or my style to get involved in somebody else’s race until the primary was over. However, after learning that George Wingo had opposition from someone who has no credentials to run for tax commissioner, I have offered whatever support George wants or needs to win this race. When Dan passed away, George was there for me to walk me through every step of the painful process of erasing my husband’s name from everything we owned together. George was also responsible for alerting me to many benefits I was entitled to upon my husband’s death. He was much more help than the attorney I chose to help me get through probating Dan’s will. In fact, had I known how knowledgeable George was, along with him and Martha Stephenson, I wouldn’t have even needed an attorney. George is a CPA whether he practices as one or not. It is a designation you have to study for and it is not taken away from you if you do not choose to have a license. If you choose to practice as a CPA, then you activate your license. I am not surprised that his opponent has chosen to run another negative campaign. It seems she cannot get elected unless she casts aspersions on her opponent. What has she specifically said she can do better? George has done a wonderful job of fine-tuning and stream lining the tax commissioner’s office. He has been a loyal and dedicated servant to this community and takes his job very seriously. Please join me in casting your vote for George Wingo, Tax Commissioner, Fayette County, Ga. Donna Lakly Peachtree City, Ga. [Donna Lakly is the widow of the late Rep. Dan Lakly (R-Peachtree City).] login to post comments |
