Fayette County schools have a tradition of excellence, but as in any organization, there is always room for improvement.

I know that I can improve schools through professional development for teachers, high standards, and effective policies.

With 20 years of experience in education, I have the knowledge and expertise to make wise choices for our schools.

I have four degrees in education, including a doctorate in educational leadership. I am a full and tenured professor in the Tift College of Education at Mercer University. I have been in leadership as chair of the executive committee for the education faculty at Mercer University in Georgia. I have written and been awarded grants from the U. S. Department of Education for over $1.2 million.

I have been an effective teacher in public schools and at universities for 20 years. I am a consultant to school districts across the country for educational improvement. I have been a teacher of teachers for 11 years.

• I will focus on the improvement of teaching and learning.

• I will strive for national recognition and excellence for all our schools.

• I will adopt policies that set students and teachers up for success.

Strong and effective teaching is the most important factor in keeping students engaged and involved in the school experience. As a school board member, I will make sure that every policy that is adopted will be in the best interest of our precious children, the future of Fayette County.
